Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) Administrator Sean McMaster will join transportation leaders at the Arkansas Department of Transportation’s (ARDOT) 2026 Arkansas Transportation Summit (ATS), scheduled for Wednesday, November 4, through Friday, November 6, in Rogers.
The annual summit brings together ARDOT employees, government officials, consultants, academics, and exhibitors to exchange ideas and explore the innovations, opportunities, and challenges shaping the future of transportation in Arkansas. This year’s program will examine the history and evolution of modern transportation infrastructure at both the state and national levels.
During the opening general session, McMaster will join ARDOT Director Jared Wiley for an in-depth conversation about transportation, funding, safety, and challenges.
“ARDOT is thankful for the strong support we see from transportation leaders on the national level,” ARDOT Director Jared Wiley said. “We are honored to welcome Administrator McMaster to Northwest Arkansas for the second annual Arkansas Transportation Summit. I look forward to our discussion regarding key industry topics including safety, innovation, and evolving technologies.”
On Tuesday, November 3, McMaster will also tour recently completed and ongoing transportation projects in the region including the Interstate 49 (I-49) extension in Barling. The tour will highlight infrastructure investments underway in Northwest Arkansas, providing regional examples of critical transportation improvements taking place across the state.
“The I-49 Extension Project is a perfect example of the Trump Administration’s commitment to building a more connected America,” McMaster said. “By delivering this vital transportation corridor, we are fueling economic growth both locally and across the country. I want to commend ARDOT for bringing this brand-new interstate segment and the Arkansas River Bridge to life, greatly improving regional mobility.”
